Good advice for bad skin?

I'm at the end of my tether with skin! I've got blackheads on my nose, cheeks, forehead and chin; lots of little pimples on my forehead and cheeks and the ghost of red spots that went down months ago but won't go away. I've tried natural %26amp; unnatural face masks, which don't seem to help at all. I had some success with my blackheads using Biore Pore Perfect warming wash but to the detriment of the rest of my face which erupted in pimples after a month or so. I have very sensitive skin and so can't use things like Clearasil which burn my face. I exfoliate every 3 days with St. Ives Apricot Scrub which has made my skin very soft but not made it look any better. I currently wash my face with cold water, tone it with natural lavendar water %26amp; then moisturise with Simple. I have a super-healthy diet, drink loads of water and don't eat chocolate or wear makeup (which aggrevate my skin problems) but nothing seems to help! I am in desperate need of some advice!

Good advice for bad skin?
Try Aloe vera based remedies.
Reply:I use the biore blackhead strips which are quite good but it sounds like you're too sensitive for normal products, have you consulted a boots pharmasist? they may recommend something or sometimes the clarins counter does very good products for skin.
Reply:I can honestly say, water is a brilliant solution for most things....look around you..... everything we need is in nature.I am a water addict i LOVE the stuff, give me that any day to fizzy drinks and juices.

water keeps headaches away, keeps cellulite at bay, and keeps skin looking fresh.

I am 41 years old, I dont have cellulite, have very few headaches and I dont look my age.
Reply:I think it could be the Parfum and purfume in the products that could be irritating your skin.

Hope some of the websites might help

Good luck hope it gets sorted soon
Reply:The exfoliating might be a bit much, over exfoliation can aggravate the problem. I use a cream called Quinoderm it is very good but it is quite strong so I'm not sure your skin will like it, but you could give it a ago. I buy mine from the chemist counter in Tesco. Have you tried using a sunbed? i find this cures all my skin problems, a few sessions and my skin clears up perfectly and because you will tan slightly the red marks go down aswell. Other than that your doctor will be able to prescribe something.
Reply:I wonder if the Pro-Activ products would work for you?

I am usually skeptical of products offered on infomercials, but my grandson's acne got so bad that I decided to buy it for him. It has been really, really helpful in clearing up his skin. He uses it as directed and faithfully. Within 1 week his skin started looking better. ( He does have the odd breakout periodically, but not as bad and it clears up quicker now. )

Maybe it will work for you, too. You could also consult with a dermatologist. When my 2 youngest daughters had bad acne(they had cystic acne which is just about the worst kind) they were put on Diane 35 birth control pills. Sounds weird, but it is specially formulated to fight acne. They were each around 17 at the time and it worked like a miracle for them.

Hope this info is helpful to you, Violet.
Reply:hey why do you think you have a bad skin...

First of all dont think too much about your external appearance because it makes you more concsious..

i can understand your problem as even i have a personal experience about this.. see even i had pimples, marks on my face so i went to all kind of dermatologists... but it did not help me,,, so i made my self not to get too tensed about my face and beauty ,, to be frank many who used to praise my beauty and skin started finding flaws in my beauty but i did not bother as i knew internal beauty is the one remains at end.. so finaly i dont have pimpls now as it went all by itself only when i dint bother much about it...so dont let down your selves ..

i have you a tip-

wash your face only trice..

eat lot of fruits

drink lot of water...

donot eat junk eat healthy home food...

always keep yourselves out of tension,, i know its difficult but try it...

donot use lot of artificial cosmetics...

just wash your face apply a sun protected cream if you go out, if you are at home apply a simple mild mostuiser..

eat orange, papaya, watermelon amla as these fruits ,it improves skin..

eat well.. enjoy what you eat,, thats more important i think

AND MOST IMPORTANT IS DONOT TOUCH YOUR SKIN i know its tempting so cut your nails as they cause more harm.

finally donot think much about your external beauty,, if you have internal beauty you can make others happy and yourselves... so try out these tips...
Reply:Oh my god your poor thing: My best advice is check out the skin care products that realy works called The Arbonne Clear Advantage. The results are amazing and stay away from makeup that has mineral oils. They also have great makeup. visit the site: www.BeInspire.myarbonne.com
Reply:Arbonne does offer a wonderful skin care regime and it also has a daily supplement that works the inside out.

You are doing the exfoliating to much - cut back to once or twice a week.

Be kind to your face. Find a great product that washes and helps acne (that doesn't contain mineral oil)

a Toner, and then a nice solid day/night cream.

Do a mask once a week and exfoliate only twice (not on the day of the mask)!
Reply:I would recommend a product called All Clear. It has cleared up my son's face. He had similar problems. The All Clear line from BeautiControl offers several items for specific problems. First I would cleans both morning and night and scrub only 3 times per week. My son also uses the MicroDerm Abrasion from the same company every 2 weeks. It is a skin resurfacer. It helps with any scarring, discoloration, pour size, etc. It has done wonders. The products last 4 months. When you start using new products you can expect for your face to seem as it is getting worse. New products can pull toxions to the surface. I would give any product 2 weeks to get the real results.
Reply:How to Have Perfect Skin

Want to have beautiful skin, as flawless as it was when you were a baby? Do you want to see people looking at you and admiring how pretty is your skin? Here's how!

Steps

Steam your face when you wake up. This will open up your pores.

Cleanse your face gently with a mild baby facial soap or proactiv with luke warm water. These do not contain harsh chemicals that damage your skin.

A healthy lifestyle is essential. This means 1. Have a balanced diet full of vegetables and fruits 2. Drink 8 glasses of water per day 3. Excersize- try 30 minutes of yoga and a quick walk around the block with your iPod or mp3 player 4. Don't stress out. It might seem impossible, but it's easy! Try a foot massage, yoga, luxurious bubble bath or listen to your favourite music.

Use sunscreen with SPF 15 and re-apply every 2 hours if you are out in the sun. Choose one that does not contain harsh chemicals.

At night massage your face with olive oil. Then wash off with your soap and lukewarm water.

Sleep at least 8 hours a day.

Avoid caffein and sugar, as well as greasy, fatty foods.

Tips

Moisturise your lips with a lipbalm containing SPF 15.

If you have acne or pimples, use tea tree oil. Dab some tea tree oil on the area and leave it there.

Warnings

If you have severe problems with acne or pimples, such that you are extremely self-conscious, you should consult a doctor. There are medications available that may considerably reduce or cure acne.

Eating chocolate or fried foods will not increase your pimples/acne. Recently, it has been scientifically proven.

It might take some time before you notice the results, but be patient!
Reply:Hey

Well i work at the Body Shop and the best thing to use would be tea tree but if your skin is very sensitive then go for Seaweed. Go into a body shop near you and ask them to help you choose the best skin care. But i would really suggest the tea tree as it helps with spots and oily tee zones it especially helps with black heads as they have a nose pore mask and also a tea tree facial mask that would be the best thing.

Hope i helped.
Reply:Indian face mask.

A simple face mask made from runny honey and a few spoons of chick pea flour (gram flour) add few drops of hot water to binds the mixture to a smooth consistency.Apply and leave on for no more than10-15 minutes. Moisturise as normal.
Reply:As one that went thru this when younger, one thing I learned is to keep your hands away from your face!!!!!! That is number one! You would be surprised to find out how many times you lean into your hands (if bored) or touch face from being nervous or self-conscience.

Also, forget about most OTC products......use plain soap and water!!!!! The only thing topical is an oxy 5%-10% to get your zits under control. Use this cream sparingly and only on the worst areas. Once the blemishes fade use a less % of the cream.

Water is good. Do not believe the myths about how blemishes are caused......it is all about keeping your skin clean!
Reply:I occasionally get spots and outbreaks. Some products work for you, others don't. It depends on the individual. I suggest you go and see a dermatologist who are experts in skincare. They would be in a position to advise you as to which creams would suit your skin. You could go and see one, ask for some samples to try the product and see how that works on your skin.
Reply:Just stick to one range otherwise the products will react with each other. I use the Simple range it don't use any colours or perfume and don't use unnecessary additives they do things for the skin like moisturiser but there is a light one for the day and a thicker one for the night they even do shampoo and deodorant so take a look a what they have you might need to spend about £30 to get all the things you need but its well worth it .
Reply:Sounds like acne. See your doctor, he will prescribe antibiotics, and may refer you to a dematologist. DON'T use any cleansers, toners, etc. PLAIN unperfumed soap, no moisturisers
Reply:Washing it too much can make it worse. Also, exfoliate once a week. Have you tried proactiv. I was super skepitcal and did not think I would have to invest in it because of all the other products out there. But I got it and it has done wonders for me. Also, try reducing your stress. Stress can also make it worse
Reply:vichy. don't buy oily products.
Reply:I think you should go see your GP %26amp; ask to be put on anitciotics for your acne %26amp; also to be referred to a dermatologist. You should be using oil-free products! Dermalogica has a good range of products for different skin types-you should try theirstarter kit which cost around 20 quid. The micradermabrasion facial is good for acne %26amp; scars.
Reply:Body shop products are quite good. They cleared up my skin quite a lot since I started using them. Sunbeds also help, but do not go there a lot, it's not very good for you, 1 session a week should be enough and shouldn't cause any harm. I wish you the very best of luck...Oh yea...I have also heard that African Black soap is very good for all sorts of skin products! is 100% natural as well it should be good for you as you hasve sensitive skin (just like me)
Reply:wash ur skin twice a day with soap and warm water
Reply:Sounds like you need a chemical exfoliant (Beta Hydroxy Acid or Alpha Hydroxy Acid) rather than a physical one (scrub). Try Paula's Choice skin care. You can buy sample sizes to try things out. I've found it to be the best! Plus you learn so much about skin from her site.

www.paulaschoice.com
Reply:Go buy St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control for Oily Acne prone skin. Even though your skin is sensitive it is medicated with salicylic acid which helps to unclog pores and in your case with blackheads and whiteheads or even bumpy skin.

There are 5 Swiss botanticals

Oil Free

2% Salicylic Acid

Medicated Formula deep cleanses your pores leaving skin clear smooth and radiant.

I used this for 2 months now I have no bumps on my cheeks and almost all the bumps on my forehead are gone. My blackheads on my nose and forehead just vanished within 1 week. I use this everyday in the morning before shower and sometimes 3 times a day. I never had a problem. Im darker skin like medium toned. I hope it works for you because it works wonders for me
Reply:Seems like you have tried everything. Maybe you should consider consulting a doctor or professional dermatologist. There might be something not functioning as it should be internally. In the meantime, don't ex foliate you skin too often, which could end up in aggravating the skin too.
Reply:Take vitamin c supplements every day with retard release it builds up the protective skin immune against bacteries avoid for a while yeast and milk products, instead of water drink loads of green tea it purifies and illuminates the skin.

Don't use cold water but warm.Dab some liquid clay( cosmetic mudd) directly on spots before you go to bed it will reduce inflammation and stop it spreading.

Never exfoliate when there are spots because you will just spread them more.

The more serious cure is Retinol A treatment which your doctor prescribes under guidance and precautions .It works after couple of months never to return again.
