Which daily facial cleanser is better for my skin??(combo skin &dry, flakey cheeks)?

i have combination skin. i get the frequent whiteheads. with scarring, dry flakey cheeks i use oil of olay moisturizer, it helps for moisturizing but it still shows the roughness and flakes. %26amp; im wondering if i have sensitive skin?

i've used cetaphil for oily skin %26amp; it was ok, neutrogena oil free acne wash it was drying and didnt help, spectrojel didnt work either so did clean%26amp; clear deep action cream cleanser.

im thinking of using St. Ives Apricot Cleanser OR Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. which one is better for my skin?

You can read what the products do for your skin. Pick what best fits your need and you will see your skin transform. I know this because I have seen it work.

Products to look for: Nourishing foam cleanser, Purifying Foam Cleanser, Hydrating Toner, the concentrated mask is Fabulous as well.

Over the counter products have cheap fillers. Look for something that is natural and formulated for and by Dermatologist/Plastic Surgeons.

Reply:Avon makes a great selection of products for all skin types and they are not terribly expensive.

If you can afford to spend a little more money try Sina Skincare at sinaskin.com.
Reply:I have the same skin type:

St. Ives GENTLE apricot scrub 3x per week

Cetaphil Gentle skin cleaner WITHOUT water (I know) ever day and night.

2.5% benezol peroxide for those few pimples that appear.

Non-Soap Skin Cleanser?

Do you recommend any non-soap skin cleanser for sensitive skin?

Non-Soap Skin Cleanser?
Cetaphil. its awsome. a little expensive though. about 15$ for a bottle. bottle lasts for about 3to4 weeks though. its highly recommended. its made for ppl with skin conditions, babies, and ppl who want smooth skin. its awsome

i do sell this product and it's really good for sensitive skin.
Reply:yeah/.. i do..use a cleansing fluid instead..
Reply:Most cleansers are soap free, I would recommend either a Lancome or Elizabeth Arden cleanser. If you go to one of their beauty counters they will be able to recommend the correct cleanser for you. Good Luck!
Reply:* How about this one:

Original formula is specially designed for sensitive skin of the face and hands and is fragrance free. Natural moisturizers from aloe vera and oil of coconut are combined to maintain your skin's moisture mantle and pH balance. Ideal for normal to oily or mixed skin types. Fresh Fruit scent formula is specially designed for normal to dry skin of the face and hands.

Our Non-Soap Skin Cleanser is formulated to be gentle on the skin. We use surfactants derived from coconut and olive oils to help remove dirt and grime, and the cleanser is pH balanced at 5.3-5.7 - easily within the pH range of healthy skin. Non-Soap Skin Cleanser will clean skin and remove dirt and oil as well as harsher soaps but will not dry and damage the skin in the process.
Reply:Cetaphil. Its worked wonders on my skin.
Reply:Arbonne has a great line for people with extremely sensitive skin. Their products are botanically based, pure, safe, and beneficial. They do not contain mineral oil, alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, or other ingredients that might irritate your skin. I would be happy to help you if you're open to giving it a try.

Red blotchy skin?

I used toothpaste two days ago in an attempt to dry up my acne (Bad move on my part). The acne is gone but the skin around where the zits used to be is red and blotchy. I have pretty sensitive skin and I'm wondering how to diminish the red spots on my face. I use concealer to cover it up, but how can I make them go away?

Any advice would be great :)

Thanks in advance.

Red blotchy skin?
you're just lucky it actually MADE your acne go away. all it did for me was burn and dry my skin out. but anyway, i'd just wait it out. it's really harsh and it probably just hurt your skin a little bit. almost like a sunburn, but. . . not. it'll prolly be gone in a few weeks. :)

What's a good skin care product?

I'm a 23 year old black female and i' ve never used any skin care products for my face. I would like to know some kind of scrub to use everyday or some kind of cream that i could use on my face daily. I am afraid to try just any product because i have very sensitive skin, and if the product is no good then i could break out. I heard the olay definity was good but i also heard it was for older women. I don't have much acne but have like different skin tones on my face. Not like freakish or anything, but up close i notice it. I'm just looking for something that could like even it out.

you can see on my myspace that my face looks very clear cause i do makeup professionally.

In reality though it's not so perfect, but im sick of wearing makeup everyday, so i want to try some kind of cream or something to give me the makeup look WITHOUT the makeup.

What's a good skin care product?
i use "Proactiv" and it REALLY works. I got results in just 3 days. It works on any kind of skin. I say give it a try.

Hope that helps. GOOD LUCK
Reply:go to makeupalley.com and look at the product reviews on various skin care products. The ladies on that site helped me pick out the products that were right for me.

Reply:I advice u to consult any skin specialist Doctor he gives u good treatment bcoz i dont see u and if i give some advice and if it will put bad affect on ur skin so i think this is not good for u .I use ponds sun cream and also night cream and Dove and Hollywood style Face wash my color is white if u wana se me so i will send u my pic
Reply:try a microdermabrasion kit. it can help with your skin tone and makes my skin have a nice glow. just go to the drug store and look at the products. look for one that says it will not clog pores or is non comedogenic. they should not cause your skin to break out. try looking for ingrediants that have products that soothe your skin such as tea tree oils. just stick with the brands you have heard about.
Reply:please dont use proactiv it doesnt work. u could try olay there products are good, i use them and im 21. Or u could use black skin care products like ambi, thats good too. It will help even out your skin. Also, u could try things like mama lotion worked miracles for me or green cream, but that more for ppl with acne.

Reply:i switch off between 2 great skincare systems. olay regenerist and clinique 3 step. the ladies at clinique will match your specific skin with a perfect combination custom fit to your needs. it is slightly pricey, but it lasts FOREVER and works very well. i also use olay regenerist microderm cleansing cloths a few times a week and night moisturizer for anti aging. its not just for old people. every woman should begin anti aging skincare at about age 20 to prevent any visible signs of aging.

as far as makeup goes, i personally hate wearing makeup because of the unnatural look of it and the long process. i use a GREAT tinted moisturizer from clinique that evens out skintone, moisturizes, and provides sun protection without looking like makeup. you can barely see or feel it. and its really really fast to put on.

What a good facial moisturizer for dry/acne prone skin?

my skin is very very dry right now becaause im using an acne cream and the moisturizer im using isnt moisturizing enough but im sccared to use anything else because alot of things make me break out, and also my skin is very sensitive. does anyone know of a moisturizer for the face thats good for sensitive skin and won`t break me out?

What a good facial moisturizer for dry/acne prone skin?
My daughter's dermatologist suggested we use Cetaphil on her face.. she has acne, and he put her on acne meds which made her skin dry and any moisturizer we used, gave her MORE acne.. the cetaphil is the only thing we used that worked!
Reply:I use Clean and Clear shine control moisturizer and it really helps to keep your skin from drying out. Also, it's non-comedogenic so it won't irritate your acne either. I also suffer from acne and had problems with the medicine drying my skin out and this seems to help.
Reply:Purpose. Simple as that. little square bottle, blue label, white cream. great for sensitive skin.

Old and Dirty Looking Skin (Mild Acne) [Pictures Included!!!]?
to be honest your description is way off!! your skin doesnt look bad - yes you have mild acne but most young guys do...you are paranoid...your skin doesnt look old at all!! im sure in a year or so you will have clearer skin...

i know acne is difficult but most people go through it in their teens...you are an attractive man and should have no problem with the ladies...if you make an issue of your skin then your confidence will be low...you are attractive!
Reply:firstly, your skin does not appear "old and dirty looking"

secondly, that is a sh!tload of chemicals to be using on your face
Reply:And i don't see anything you pointed out! Just a few pimples.. You look normal. I think since your acne is gone you are looking for more things to be wrong.. Just relax, ex foliate and cleanse. Good Luck! =D

Get rid of dry skin?

Ever since using Dove Sensitive Skin Soap on my face it has been dry and sore, no matter what cream i use, been like it for 4 days now and im sick of dry skin as i cant go back to school looking like a crocodile! i've recently been in the shower and used Clean %26amp; Clear Exfoliating Scrub and now my whole face is covered in dry skin! Any ideas to get rid of it?

Thanks.

Get rid of dry skin?
use neutragena face moisturizer twice a day and you'll see a huge improvement in your skin.
Reply:You may have had an allergic reaction to one or more of the products you used. At this point you should probably not use any kind of scrub or abrasive as it will just irritate your skin more. Wash gently (without hard scrubbing) with a light, gentle cleanser. Dermatologists recommend Cetaphil. Try not to touch or scratch your face as that might irritate your skin even more. If after a few days of very gentle treatment your skin does not improve then you probably need to see a dermatologist to treat the reaction.
Reply:these are really good at removing dry skin

http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/brow...

you could also invest in a really good moisturiser, maybe one for sensitive skin.
Reply:try using a moisturizer just search around olay and ponds have cream for dry skin dont use bar soaps for washing your face if you dont have acne use a mild cleanser
Reply:Ok, hold fire on the exfoiliating until you've got a bit more moisture in your skin, you'll only make it worse. I have really dry skin on my face and don't use soap at all, it's not the right balance if you're prone to flaky skin. I use Cream E45, which is really rich, and put it on before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning. Once you've done that for a few days, use a facecloth and gently rub to get rid of the excess skin.

I would also avoid make up if you can because that only dries it out more.
Reply:Dont exfoliate if u hav dry skin. It will only make it worse as it rubs off all the dead skin cells but also decreases the layers.

I used to have extreamly dry skin on my face near mii eyes, mouth and 4head and chin. i h8ed it. If u hav a LUSH store near u (luk on the lush webby) get the almond kisses lotion for your skin or sympathy for skin. Theyr great! if not go for E45 which u can get from any store, boots or superdrug...

drink plenty of water and hope dis helps hunii xxx
Reply:Haldens emulsifying base, its available from the chemist. It feels a little gross going on but its excellent in restoring the moisture in your skin. Its suitable for the entire body and is very cheap for a large container.
Reply:I use olay moisturiser and my face feels soft and moist.
Reply:Discontinue the use of any type of facial wash/exfoliate. the Neutrogena facial cream may work once the damage is healed, but right now it sounds like you need to let your face rest.

I had a really bad experience with a face wash once and the dermatologist prescribed 2.5 hydrocortizone ointment...it worked like a dream. That strength is not available over the counter, but the 1% ointment is and works just as well. Use it morning %26amp; night, it has to be the ointment not the cream...it's a little greasy (I would not wear foundation right now) but who cares!
Reply:Never, never, use soap on your face; my grandmother only ever used rose water to clean her skin, and she had beautiful soft skin until the day she died.

Exfoliating scrubs are fine, but only now and again; they are very hard on your skin, and all you are doing is taking the top layer off. Let your skin be for a while; if you still want to wash your face, you need a special facial wash that's gentle, it might be a case of experimenting with a few until you get the right one. Boots should have something for everyone. Too many products for young skin are drying and harsh; now is the time to start caring for it.

Drink plenty of water; %26amp; you might need some sort of supplement like cod liver oil if your skin is dry all over and not just your face. Also any product used on your face with water should be rinsed and rinsed in luke warm water, NOT hot and not ice cold either.
Reply:my only recommendation is try using Olay cold cream to wash you face with instead. When you open it up it will actually look like a moisturizer. Just rub it all over your face and use a wash cloth dipped in warm water to wipe it off. It will clean your face without making it dry. Olay as a lot of good products for the skin.... I believe its a white jar with a green cap.
Reply:use Vaseline, put it on before bedtime or just after a shower if your staying indoors that is,

do this for a week or so, your skin should be fine.

and get a face wash especially for sensitive skin, stop using dove
Reply:Don't use soap, most contain fragrance which can irritate the skin.

A great product is AQUEOUS CREAM, you can get a 500g jar for just a couple of pounds. You can use this to wash with - all over if you want - and to soften and sooth your skin.
Reply:maybe the skin care products that you have been using is not right for your skin. try all natural moisturizers and lotions, this can be suitable for any type of skin. also to keep the skin looking young try to avoid unhealthy habits like smoking, have proper diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have enough sleep and rest. for more skin care tips that can help you get rid of dry skin visit http://www.skinsosilky.com
Reply:I had an allergic reaction to something in the summer and looked like I'd been punched in the face. Once the swelling had gone with anti histamines my skin was really dry and almost cracked. I used bio oil and not joking in a couple of days ws 100% better. So worth the money. When soreness had gone I used Simple exfoliating facial wipes - very gently - Dead skin has to go!
Reply:I cant use soap as its all made of lanolin. You have obviously had a reaction.Don't use an exfoliator your making things worse.Buy Simple face wash and moisturiser they both contains no irritants and are especially made for sensitive skin.Hopefully it will settle down.Good luck.

STRESS! My skin is getting bumby?

Im only in middle school, but I get SOOO stressed all the time. If Im doing my homework and my sister starts talking loudly, I immidiately start getting stressed. Ive been getting gallons of homework lately, and my simbling make it worse. A few nights ago I began breaking out, getting dark circles etc. My skin is getting bumby and a little red in some spots, on my face.

Plz help! I have a sensitive skin, what kinds of cremes should I use? Should I schedule a dermatologist appointment?

(Luckly picture day was last week!)

Thanks!

STRESS! My skin is getting bumby?
Stress is not a good thing to have. Levels of stress can begin like the case you mentioned above and therefore you need to look into some space on your own. Learn the aspects of being disturbed by your siblings..find a solution to do your homework elsewhere..perhaps the library..or some other school location. Get it done before going home. Failing that do your homework before your siblings get back..or even before they get up in extreme cases. Whatever the cause..you have to learn to live with them..there are solutions and those are things you r should talk to all your family about and get them to agree if good results are required then some level of responsibility needs to be adhered to. Knowing these paramters everyone should understand a little better and the stress levels should drop considerably. Good luck!

Perfect skin?

How do i get really good skin.. With no pimples and soft skini on my body.. I live in Aus so any products available here would be great if you could recomend.. I also have sensitive skin. Also can certain foods help

Perfect skin?
CLINIQUE products are the best, trust me they work in any type of skin. I have been using it for a few months and my face always looks clear, and clean. They are a litle pricey but its all worth it, try the clinique 3 steps it works best you can see results within a month. and clarins is a good brand new, but i still prefer clinique.
Reply:Drink lots of water! And when you wake up in the morning, wash your face with COLD water. Then add on a moisturiser. I'm not sure what products they sell in Australia but if they have the brand 'botanics' there, then try some of that stuff because it's really good!! :) They sell them in most boots stores(i dont know if there's a boots in australia), hope you can find some!
Reply:Three things: tone, cleanse and moisturise. The best products I have found are Clinique. They're expensive but OMG are they worth it! I used them every day and my skin just glows. Before I used them, my skin was really uneven- dry in some places and oily in others. I also use a body shop face-mask once a week and use my little in-home facial spa (they cost about $10!) Use a good sunblock aswell.

Diet really does make a difference. If you eat a lot of salt, sugar and excess fat, then your body is full of toxins and you need to flush that out. Drink 3 liters of water a day and your skin will be instantly clearer. Eat plenty of fruit and green veg and you're all set.

Hope this helps!

Dry skin...help!!?

i have really dry skin even when i a pply lotions, i also have really sensitive skin and can't tolerate lotion with alot of fragrance...any suggestions that i can try???

Dry skin...help!!?
Vaseline. put it on at night and wear long sleeves, something that you can ruin because it'll leave a greasy residue.
Reply:try the vaseline extra strenth lotion, doesnt have a powerful scent and wont harm your sensitive skin
Reply:Get Shea butter (I like Bath and Body Works brand). It is the BEST moisturizer out there, and they don't usually add fragrance to it.
Reply:Try Cetaphil. It works pretty good. You can get it at Wal-mart.
Reply:try baby lotion or the kind they use in hospitals you should be ok with them
Reply:EUCERIN LOTION WORKS REALLY GOOD. IT DOESNT HAVE ANY FRANGRANCE. I USE IT ON MY 5 YEAR OLD SON FOR DRY SKIN
Reply:Vaseline is best. has no chemicals. is plain and hence no chance of getting side effects
Reply:try bert's bees baby lotion.. it's non scented and made gentle enough for a baby to use.. vaseline would work also but it will stain your clothes..

if your face is dry also.. whip up an egg yolk and put it on your face.. leave it on for ten minutes and rinse off.. it's a natural moisture mask..
Reply:If you want natural remides for Dry skin, here are some home remedies you can concoct:

i. For that satiny feeling, apply virgin olive oil on your body, lips and nails; it's a great skin revitaliser.

ii. Mix equal parts of glycerine (available at any chemist), rosewater and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this at bedtime on your face, hands and feet for MAGICAL results.

iii. Mix a teaspoon each of milk cream, honey and oats. Apply on your face for 10 minutes and scrub off. It not only moisturises but exfoliates gently, leaving your skin radiant. Use this pack once a week.

iv. Whip up this pre-bath body scrub, massage all over your body and then shower:

Grind three tablespoons of sesame seeds (til) with three to four teaspoons of rosewater and half a teaspoon of sandalwood paste.

-%26gt;if u want product pick then u can go for:-

i. Try Marks and Spencer's Cocoa Butter body lotion (Rs 450, available at stores that stock imported products) or medicated ones like Cetaphil or Efaderm (Rs 69, available at all chemists).

ii. If you are an aloe freak, try Elovera cream and lotion (both Rs 75, available at all chemists).

iii. Cetaphil cleanser is a good soap substitute.

But what I suggest u go for home remides they are natural %26amp; they dont have any bad affect. But the choice is yours as you u know ur skin better.

Hope they Help u.......
Reply:try using Keri, Lubraderm and se how it goes
Reply:i have really dry skin and my daughter had me try aveeno baby it's the best i've found so far and not expensive
Reply:Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin.Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
Reply:You should use a light exfoliant first. Try Avveno's facial wash. I suggest using Avveno's Ultra-Calming moisturizer. It helps even out skintone and reduce redness. It has no scent and should be fine on your sensitive skin. Good luck!

Is there a wax made ONLY of honey that is sensitive enough to wax facial hair?

I have heard about "all purpose honey wax" that you can find at a beauty supply store. But I really don't know if it's going to be sensitive enough to wax the facial hair that I have. Plus I have VERY sensitive skin, and the all purpose honey wax I've heard about better be JUST honey and nothing else. I don't need a whole lot of chemicals going on my skin.

Nad's

no-heat hair removal gel - 100% natural

I have VERY sensitive skin and this is the only product I've found that I've been able to use effectively. Look for it in drug stores or Target.
Reply:Sugaring, an alternative to wax, is made up of a mixture of lemon juice, sugar and water. Hair needs to be longish for the waxing to work because the wax needs to bind on the hair in order to pull it out. Another benefit of sugaring instead of waxing besides that is more appropriate for sensitive skin is that it actually helps to thin the hair so future hair growth will be less noticably and over time only gets thinner. Im a licensed esthican and i honestl prefer sugaring to waxing anyday the benefits are great and for sensitve skin its a dream come true :)

Joesoef Skin Care Anti-Acne Treatment - sulfur for acne?

I have never used sulfur products to treat my acne before, but since I've been using it, it works even better than the salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide on my skin. Why don't more companies make products like this? It ACTUALLY works on my sensitive skin!!

Joesoef Skin Care Anti-Acne Treatment - sulfur for acne?
Yes! Sulfur does work for acne. I've been using Joesoef Skin Care for my acne, and I saw results in less than a week. I like this much better than proactive since it does not feel as harsh on my skin. I like that it is natural. did you know this product has been around for 50 years? If it has been around that long, it MUST work!

No, I don't think so. Just use moisturizer (maybe a lot) after you use St. Ives. It makes my skin really smooth.

For acne you also need to use a regular clenser every day. Use St. Ives apricot scrub only (at the most) every other day. especially for sensitive skin.

Reply:you might be being abit to hard with the razor shave alittle more softly. avoiding going over the same place. this may help you with some handy tips on the dry skin issue
Reply:Get some Aveeno moisturizer. It works really well.
Reply:Put on lotion or try skintimate its a saving gell and it works really good.
Reply:When I know I am going to shave I apply Johnson's Milk Lotion or Johnson's Creamy Baby Oil the night before shaving! I know it is baby lotion but I am telling you this lotion works wonders on dry skin! I had horribly dry skin until I started using my girls' lotion! Now I use on baby lotions!! Also you could get some of that shave gel for women and use both the gel and lotion or just choose one of them. Good luck girlie!!
Reply:get loshon and put it on every day
Reply:Use a shaving lotion/gel/foam 4 sensitive skin.

Rub in lots of baby oil while your legs are damp from shaving.

Keep your legs covered when not out partying 2 give them a rest from harsh sunlight.
Reply:when shaving your legs make sure to wash them first. That should help with the razor bumps. then shave using the skintamate shave gel. after shaving try and put a skin moisturizing lotion on such as suave or jergins. this will help a lot with your dry skin. if you keep repeating this process you shouldnt have dry skin that much. it worked for me so it might work for you.
Reply:Try Aveeno lotion and Skintimate shaving gel. If those don't work for you, see a dermatologist.

You could also try not shaving as often.
Reply:use body cream
Reply:do you put lotion on before you shave??? and after??? try using St. Ives lotion. They have so many different kinds so pick the one that describes your problem best.
Reply:well i find that coco butter is a great cream for dry skin, and for razer bumps, try exfoliating %26lt; --- (Spelt wrong)

Razer bumps are just in-growing hairs, so by exfoliating, your removing the top layer of dead skin and allowing the hairs to grow properly.

Exfoliating washes are the ones with little bits in (sometimes little bits of sand)
Reply:Lubriderm Advanced Therapy for Extra Dry Skin, works well
Reply:Mix equal parts of 'apple cider vinegar' and 'pure olive oil' and apply as you would any lotion. Please don't discount it before you try it at night before you go to bed. Rub it in well. I swear it works very well.
Reply:Ever hear of the body shop? They have all different scents that smell GREAT and there all for different skin types. One for very dry skin, dry skin, oily skin,.....ect. You can even order them offline.
Reply:well i had the same problem but what i started to do is shave using body wash like the olay complet bady wash for dry skin oatmeal type, it makes your skin soft and i dont get razor bumps also use the olay quench for dry skin it works really nicely.

I dont like how my skin on my face looks because it doesnt look healthy and i have a little acne problem but?

u can only see it when your really close to my face.my question is what is a good product to buy if u want great looking skin and for healthy skin ? im young 17-male. REMEMBER i have sensitive skin and my skin is white, well not that white. thanks

1 more question i have a couple of dents on my face how do i make them go away ? thanks

I dont like how my skin on my face looks because it doesnt look healthy and i have a little acne problem but?
don't worry about it! everyone has there flaws and you just learn to live with them =D
Reply:call dermotologist and ask for Tazorac cream. Your skin should clear up after a week or so.
Reply:A dermatologist reccomended a wonderful five step program. After just two days I started seeing MAJOR results. It inexpensive and effective.

Step 1- Cleanser

This is a mild soap. The only purpose of this is to clean you face, so don't use cleansers with microbeads or exfoliating scrubs, just a nice, soft soap. Also, do not use bar soap, as this will dry out your skin.

Step 2- Exfoliating

This is the stage where all of the dead skin cells are removed. This is probably the most important stage, because once you are finished, only the new, pure, and clean cells will me left, and all the dead oily cells will be gone. This will sound strange, but after wetting my face, I apply a mixture of sugar and water. It should be thick in consistency, and apply about 1 tablespoon to your face and scrub. It should feel like sandpaper against your skin, because that means you are scrubbing off all the dead skin cells.

Step 3- Astringent

Witch Hazel and Alcohol are both good astringents. Make sure your astringent isn't too rough or filled with harsh chemicals. This will cause your skin to become red and botchy. I use clearisil deep cleansing astringent for sensitive skin.

Step 4- Moisturizer

This is very important because if you don't add moisture to your skin, your skin will produce more oil, leading to further breakouts. Oil-free is best, but regular is fine too. I use Olay Oil-Free Beauty Moisturizer with SPF 15.

Step 5- Sunscreen

If your moisturizer has sunscreen in it, then forget this step. If it doesn't, however, apply a sunscreen that's right for your face. Sun can cause MAJOR damage and acne scars to your face.

You may want to experiment with different products until you find some right for you. Every skin type is different, so there is no "universal product". Good luck!
Reply:for your skin take clearcomplex.. you can buy it at http://www.purivol.com. for your acne scars look for any cream that has silicone in it.

Olive oil on skin?

I have used everything on my dry sensitive skin, and nothing works.....The only thing that gives it relief is olive oil (the kind you cook with) has anyone haerd of the side effects of using this type of olive oil on the skin? For example can it darken the skin?

Olive oil on skin?
Its great stuff.....I work with a couple of ladies who use it head to toe - and they have killer skin. I use it on my legs when its real dry out - like in the dead of winter here in the midwest - but its too heavy for me everywhere else....it gives me black heads - Yuck.....

But there are no side effects of using them topically.....as in medical side effects....
Reply:The only thing I've had go wrong with olive oil is that it made my hands smell weird. You should be fine.
Reply:I have very dry sensitive skin as well and have started taking baths instead of showers. I've been putting a little olive oil and or baby oil in the bath and getting the water almost intolerably hot and soaking in it for a while. My skin feels much much better than it did even a week ago.

Best skin care routine?

Hello all. I need some pointers on what brands and products I should use. What are the best brands you have used for skin care on your face?

I have dry/sensitive skin and large pores. I tend to breakout a few times a year on my chin and forehead. Also I have a lot of blackheads on and around my nose.

If you could give me some advice it would be much appreciated!

Best skin care routine?
The best non-prescription facial products that I have found are made by Neutrogena. I have super sensitive skin and it is hard to find products that are not too harsh or drying. I use the acne stress control facewash and cream. The facewash has micro-scrubbers, which are great for blackheads. Make sure you scrub until it tingles. I also use their moisturizer during the day. It is not oily and doesn't cause breakouts.
Reply:eskinol pimple fighting facial wash and eskinol papaya facial cleanser...i don't if it's available in yourplace.if not,,, try olay facial products.
Reply:Visit Kaya Skin Clinic's website.
Reply:For your type of skin I would recommend what my son use. Arbonne Not So Basic Intelligence system...washer, toner, exfoliating masque, eye cream and moisturizer. It is botanical based, vegan, no mineral oil, no fragance no color, hypoallergenic, tested by dermatologist. Prevents breakouts and helps sensitive skin.

If you like more informatin or free sample let me know.
Reply:diana stalder products are the best brand to use and they are very well known products..Please read about their products.

Coconut oil and skin?

I have slight rosacea and very sensitive skin that is dry. I purchased extra virgin coconut oil and was wondering if it will naturally darken my skin. I did research on the internet and some sites said it will and others say it wont..anyone have used this as a moisturizer before..did you notice skin discolorations..and if you did what was the result...thank you in advance

Coconut oil and skin?
I love coconut oil and its done nothing but good things for my skin i notice that my skin looks brighter and more radiant its great for wrinkle prevention/exzema/stretchmarks/age spots and overall great looking skin
Reply:I have used coconut oil on my face and body and never noticed discoluration. With your sensitive skin you need to use skin care products that don't have chemicals etc, because they will make you skin worse. Kosema with rose hip oil is good, but mostly everything you use has to be done on a trail and error basis until you find a product that suits.

Spicy foods, stress, hot drinks , hot showers and alcohol are probably not good for rosacea. View is that these aggravate the condition.

Its all trial and error good luck and if you find miracle product let me know. I am from sydney Australia
Reply:No, coconut oil will not discolor your skin. It's actually a perfect oil for anyone with sensitive skin or other skin conditions.

As mentioned above, the best products you can use are all natural, without all the chemicals and petroleum derivatives.

Sunflower Naturals has a complete line of skin care products, you ought to check them out and check out the ingredients, no chemicals, petroleum or alcohol.

http://www.sunflowernaturals.com/
Reply:the notion for oil on skin will cause skin darkening may be attributed to the fact that heated oil causes skin to burn (like you use oil for frying and browning meat?).. well, any hot surface can burn or cause skin pigmentation, and so does the sun, whether there's oil or not..

what you can do is to use the ev coco oil at bedtime as a night moisturizer, then sunscreen at daytime to protect skin from sun damage...

i use ev coco oil as my night moisturizer 2x a week too :-)
Reply:coconut oil is the best oil to use for your skin it is best to apply it at night and rub the oil in the areas of your face that need work or protection i heard your supposed to wipe the oil after you finish mositurising cuz its bad if it stays on your skin i am not sure about this i even reasearched it on the web and didn't find any thing about it, so many people say they use it but don't say how they apply it. hope this helped.

I have really sensitive armpits!!! What should I use?

Everytime I shave they get all red and bumpy. Gross! Are there any deodorants (I've tried Secret and Dove Sensitive Skin) or creams I could use instead of shaving? I hate wearing tanks because of this!

I have really sensitive armpits!!! What should I use?
I don't use creams or something that's sticky or creamy..it makes my skin more worse.

I make my skin as dry and cool as possible. Simple solution; use powder, non-fragance. Medicated powder, it works for me. It absorbs wetness, humidity and odor.
Reply:Try Degree......shower clean kind,smells great...and its not as irritating!!!

Cetaphil: Gentle vs Normal to Oily skin. How do I know which to use?

How do I know if my skin on my face is sensitive? Is having acne considered SENSITIVE skin?

Cetaphil: Gentle vs Normal to Oily skin. How do I know which to use?
having acne is not considered sensitive skin. get a sample of normal just in case you do have sensitive skin and see if it irritates you and if it does then try the gentle.

i use gentle and it works great for me.
Reply:If you have acne then I'd buy the sensitive formula. But Cetaphil is one of the best gentle cleaners out there.
Reply:Do you get allergic reactions to products? If so, your skin is sensitive.

If your skin is oily, use the normal to oily skin one. Otherwise you can probably use either.

Cetaphil isn't a harsh soap to start off with anyways.

Buy the smallest size bottle possible to start, if you don't like it or have a bad reaction to it, you can then go try the other one.
Reply:i have acne and i use cetapil normal to oily skin and i like it a lot because it does not dry out my face and it gets it really clean

Help!!!! combination?!! oily skin??

I'm somewhere around combination to oily skin.

For example, if I wash my face twice a day morning and night, after I wash my face in the morning it would be oily only on the t-zone. But by night, except around my lips, it becomes oily all over. But just couple months ago, I started having this extreme break out on my cheeks. I still don't know the exact reason why it happened, but I'm guessing its from stress, health, make-up %26amp;/or etc. So I was just wondering a couple of things from here.

1. Which category do you guys suggest I really am? COMBINATION or OILY skin?

2. Toners with alcohol tend to make my face red and sometimes sting. Will it be okay if I use a tonic for sensitive skin?

3. And in my case, should I use a moisturizer thats gel type or light-weight lotion?

Thank you so much for your time!

Help!!!! combination?!! oily skin??
You sound combo-oily-oily but you could also be dehydrated-combo -oily too. Especially if you have sesnitive skin. Dehydrated skin will produce excessive oil which makes it seems like its oily-oily but infact not. You need a non-oily hydrating cream. The sensitve tonic sounds great. Don't use a harsh cleanser, use combo skin cleanser and get a enzyme type exfoilant. Granule exfoilants may irritate your skin, thus producing more oil. I don't know how much money you have to spend on skin care....I had the worst time with oily, combo, breakouts until finally someone said your skin is dehydrated. Luckily I can afford to spend a little and if you can too, EMINENCE skin care is the best. It's organic and it's amazing. Another good one is dermalogica. Hopefull that helps.
Reply:I am the same way. I use "Saint Ives, apricot scrub" twice a day.
Reply:I too have oil-skin, and Acne Free..Has eliminated 90percent of my breakouts! I tried proactiv and it didnt work well at all..you can buy acne free at walmart for like 18 dollars.. compared to 45.90 with tax Proactiv...I think you should try it!

Neutrogena Products Help.. For Oily Skin Type.. Please Click ^_^?
To let you know there is not Neutrogena though it is the best brand. I'd say go with the oil-free acne wash , only use in the morning and in the evening, definitely use the toner after you use the face wash, it cleans whatever residue is left that the facewahs could not "clean" and it will even out you skin. Use the skin face lotion with spf 15 if you have sensitive skin and you have a tendancy to get spots. (light inlfuences the showing of spots on the skin). Place a small amount in the palm of your hand. Warm it up by gently rubbing your hands together, working the product into a thin, uniform film. Gently press and apply the product to the facial area starting on your drier areas and working towards your oilier areas

otherwise you could look into using natural, herbal products.

Brief intro about calendula:

to cure a range of skin problems from burns to acne as it has properties that reduces inflammation, controls bleeding and soothes irritated tissue. Use externally or topically for minor wounds, eczemas and cysts as well as diaper rash and cradle cap in infants. can speed wound healing.

Blochy skin?

i get these red patches on my skin, i have very sensitive skin so have to use the right stuff. how can i get rid of these red patches??

Blochy skin?
"Red patches" could be a number of skin conditions from eczema to an allergic reaction to something you're using. It's always best to see a dermatologist so that you get an expert's opinion. I have very sensitive skin as well and I make sure that all the soaps I use are hypo-allergenic and without fragrances as well as my lotions. Cetaphyl has a really great cleanser for your face. It's hypo-allergenic and comes in a liquid form as well as a bar. They also carry moisturizers. Oil of Olay also has a great line of products for sensitive skin. I personally use their body wash for sensitive, dry skin as well as some of their facial products.

But definitely see your dermatologist so that you know for sure what's going on with your skin.
Reply:use protection
Reply:go to an dermatologist, anything in your skin is serious, not joke
Reply:vitamin K is a wonder worker.
Reply:Oh poor you i had the same thing take Vitamin A or C+E together and your skin will soon clear up. It takes continuse use for over a month of use

For a top up it you can afford this get a face resurfacing treatment to clear away debrie on your first layer of skin.

Good Luck Well i know it will work so good on you.
Reply:I would get to a dermatologist and possibly an allergist. My skin get blotchy around this year when my allergies pop up. You may need to be prescribed a topical and oral medication. I have super sensitive skin too, so I did that and also use only dye and color free skin products.
Reply:Do not use any lotion or cream made to "even the skin tone" or for acne. These would make you even redder. Red, sensitive skin is most often the first sign of... drum roll, please..... rosacea. When you are older, those capillaries which are dilated enough now to make your skin go red, will break, and you will develop fine red spidery-veins around your nose, cheeks, etc.

Prevention is the best medicine. You need a cream to soothe that skin, but may mistakenly be given something with Paraffin (or paraffinium) which hydrates, yes, but irritates the rosacean's skin. You need scent free, paraben and paraffin free lotion. You MUST use a sunblock if you wish to keep this under control, too. Clinique make a sunblock that doesn't show, and is a block, rather than a chemical screen (irritating, those screens!) Use face wipes , trial and error, sometimes those labelled for sensitive skin is worse.

NO EXFOLIATING. EVER.

IPL treatments (intense pulsed light, NOT ablative laser) is extremely useful and helpful, and CAN reduce the redness to almost none. It is also rather expensive.

And finally, Dr Nase, a man who suffers with rosacea, started a huge website in which people contribute, ask, compare, all sorts of information. Everything you ever wanted to know about that red blotchy skin of yours. A VERY good site!

Model Skin?

How do I get skin like the models. They have no flaws at all! I have very sensitive skin and can only use certain products. Is there a trick or are they using some sort of medication?

Model Skin?
It's called photoshop.
Reply:MOST models don't have perfect flawless skin, it's all in how they apply the makeup (blending, matching skin tone, right products), and if you're talking about magazine ads it's ALL photoshopped
Reply:Most of the models we tell you in interviews that their photos are all airbrushed with the ol' computer! I have recently begun to take one-a-day vitamins and have begun to drink more water to improve the look of my skin. I always drink a glass before I go to bed also. Always, before I lie down, I use an oil-free face moisturizer. My skin has defiantly improved. I am not sure which one in general has helped the most or if it is just the combination of the three all together, but I am positive that the change was not a coincidence.
Reply:dont let the photos fool you.they are airbrushed.so dont go trying all kinds of junk just to look like that its misleading you will look like jacko in the end.
Reply:Hunny, models don't have perfect skin there is something called cover up and photoshop. Cover up is a make up that some how makes their pimples dissapear but is bad for your pores, and photoshop some how erases their pimples and rearranges their body's and faces. I do this routine and now I barely have any pimples now:

1. Wash your hands with soap before doing this.

2. Splash warm water on all of your face to open up pores.

3. Scrub the cleanser that you use on your face and leave it on for 10 seconds for it to soak in. Rinse with hot water.

4. Dry your face with CLEAN towel.

5. Wash your face with COLD water to close up pores and dry with clean towel.

6. Get an ice cube and rub it all over your face and pimples for about a minute and leave on for 10 seconds. Dry with clean towel.

Tips: Drink lots of water and get loads of sleep. Don't stress out, this does affect how your skin and face looks. Best of luck!
Reply:I'd say airbrushing. It's all a trick, honey! They contort everything from how it appears the light is reflecting on their skin, the colors of their clothing, to how big their eyes are.

They aren't real. Work with what you have, not a sick society's obsession with unattainable standards of perfection.
Reply:airbrushing
Reply:models undergo many treatments to make their skin look like that . basically you should keep your skin healthy and in order to do that you should drink lots of water.

Help!! Skin/Spot Troubles?

I have very sensitive skin and it turns red and reacts VERY easily, but lately, i have had lots of tiny bumps on my forehead. They are under my skin, (so they don't look like full on yellowheads) but it shows up so easily on my forehead. I'm so conscious of them, and i hate it, because i do my cleansing routine properly (Wash, cleanser, toner, moisturise) but it just won't go. Its been like this fo about 4 weeks now, and it just keeps getting worse!!! I'm scared it will turn into acne! I also suffer from eczema, so i have the most annoying habbit of scratching at it, without realising! Help me!!!

No silly answers please - It's not worth it just leave it out

Dry skin on nose and cheeks?

My nose and my cheeks (the part closer to my nose) are extremely flaky and dry, but the rest of my face is fine. I usually use a sugar scrub to get rid of the flaky skin, but usually five minutes after i put a lotion on, it is flaky again. Is there any product I can use that will keep it smooth and moisturized all day? I do, though, have very sensitive skin.

Dry skin on nose and cheeks?
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I saw a dermitologist on television (on one of those makeover shows) and she said that if you splash cold water on your face 15 times in the morning and again 15 times at night, your face will regulate itself and you won't have the dry skin anymore. I'm not sure if it really works because I have the opposite problem: I'm trying to make my face dry. But you could always give it a try... tap water is cheaper than any lotion that you'll find ;o)
Reply:what kind of lotion do u use? i use bath %26amp; body works that stuff is good
Reply:I use St. ives Aloe vera cream for extra dry skin. I get really dry skin on my face in the winter sense I moved to Ontario and this cleared it up quickly. I wash my face in the morning and put some on then I wash it again at night then apply it again.

I have really sesitive skin, and alot of skin allergies and I havn't had any adverse reactions to this cream.
Reply:I have the SAME problem!!!

I apply Lurbriderm extra-dry lotion on my whole face twice a day (morning and night). In the morning I use Clean %26amp; Clear Morning Burst, to remove oil and impurities that build up over night. I find that this also helps scrub dry skin off (but that may be just me lol). Hope this helps and good luck!
Reply:What face care range do you use?? Id say swap to something more gentle on the skin like st.ives or nivea or Dove =] they all have specials 4 sensitive skin too!
Reply:Your scrubbing it to much and drying it out. Apply vaseline daily on the troubled area and that will help. Do not use really hot water either when you wash your face that will dry it out too. I use vaseline when my face dries out. When it gets better use Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion all over your face and it will help too. If you use make up don't for awhile give your skin time to heal make-up will dry it out too. Hope this helps. Y
Reply:The good thing about flaky skin is that the flaked-off skin is dead skin and new skin underneath is coming out. Using the scrub is good as it helps exfoliate. At night, smear petroleum jelly (Vaseline) over the dry areas to help moisturize and coat the areas. Also, increase your water intake to help "moisturize" from the inside out.

A dermatologist may be able to prescribe a stonger, medicated moisturizer to help cut down on the flaking.

Hope this helps ! :)
Reply:if you have sensitive skin, don't scrub too much. You can tell you're overdoing it if it starts to hurt, feel tight, or makes your face turn red. I got actually crusty skin for a long period of time last year, and if it goes for more than a month, you probably want to go see a doctor to see if it's exczema. You also should read the ingredient labels on whatever facial product you're using. If it has methylparaben, propylparaben, anything ending in paraben, propylene glycol, polyethylene, or enything starting with PEG, or anything with alcohols or acids, it could be irritating your skin.
Reply:One of the dry skin product in my opinion for Atopalm. It's has very rich moisturizing properties and is one of the best seller at skintore.com which holds more than 15,000 skin are items.
Reply:Perfect solution: Use sandpaper and gently rub around the area. this removes dead skin and flakes so there not a layer of dead cells. I strongly recommend neutrogena norweigh. it's about $12 and its small, but its the best i've ever used. it sinks into your skin instead of leaving a layer of moisturizers on top of your skin like most products do. because you used the sandpaper on your skin, the lotion can go into your skin faster and goes in your LIVE skin, not the dead flakes!

Dry skin??

WInter is comong, and my face is starting to become dry. It's not my whole face, it's actually only the area near the sides of my mouth, and right between my eyebrows, and also under my eyebrows(idk why) What could I use that will help it go away? I use a moisturizer now, but it really doesn't do much. It just makes my face look oily. How can I keep my skin from getting dry? I'd like lotions though, not face wash. I have really sensitive skin, and I can rarely change face wash without getting a rash of some sort :/

Dry skin??
I put a recipe for a natural mask with ingredients you can get from home to put an end to your dry skin. Try it just once, you'll never need lotion, or the risks associated with the chemicals from lotions, again. You skin probably isn't sensitive, when you change lotions you suffer a dermal reaction to the chemicals in the lotions. I can pretty much promise you that if you use the mask recipe you won't have any more dry skin problems...

just click my pic and read the profile for the recipe
Reply:i would reccomend the brand name PONDS

you can find it at your local department store like cvs or wallgreens

i use it and i have sensitive skin..

i know what you mean by getting a rash...
Reply:Aquaphor - it's the best stuff for sensitive skin
Reply:just put more moisturiser on your face and protect your face.
Reply:Cetaphil daily moisturizer. Also exfoliate a couple times a week. I like Shiseido warming scrub available at Dillards or Macy's.
Reply:A new moisturizing mask i came up with myself is

1/4 C oatmeal cook with 1/3 c water

i slice cucumber

1 tb honey

1 tb plain yogurt

1 tb coconut oil ( this stuff is the best i just started using it i put it everywhere it smells good and its great for your skin!!

Blend together in blender store in fridge apply to face for 20 min rinse with warm water i use it daily and i dont even need mouisturizers anymore

For more info on coconut oil go herehttp://www.coconut-connections.com/skin_...
Reply:do you wash your face thats why or you live in a cold house HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:corn huskers lotion alittle bit goes a long way so just try a dab
Reply:I don't have a specific brand to suggest, but I'd like to give you a little tip.

Use the lotion right after you take a shower because your skin will take it in. If you use it at any other time, it's just useless.

Good luck :)
Reply:Per my dermatologist the best things are CeraVe and Cetaphyl they are awesome

Dark and oily skin?
Use Clean and Clear or Neutrogena to wash your face if it is oily.Certain face washes don't suit certain people.remember that due to dust, pollution and oily skin, your face will get oily during the day, no matter what face wash you use. So if you want your face to stay oil-free during the day, you can:

Carry compact powder. You can dab it on your face when it starts looking oily,

Wash your face again during the day, or

Dab your face with tissue to absorb the oil - yes, it works!

Apply a light oil-free, matte foundation to your skin during the day, and when it gets oily, wipe your skin with tissue and reapply the foundation. Remember that certain compact powders may not suit you, so if you start getting a few pimples after using compact, try another brand. Also, remove the compact powder as soon as you reach home, and leave it on for as less time as possible. This will help reduce the chances of it irritating the skin. Applying compact powder is perhaps the best way of ensuring that your face looks oil free.

you have oily skin so you don't need to apply honey, just apply cucumber and lemon. Yes, it is watery, so you don't need to remove a whole lot of juice - just very little, and spread it on your face. Wash off when it dries.

TO LIGHTEN A TAN

- Wash the face and arms well. Mash some ripe strawberries and apply as a paste. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

- Powder the kernel of a walnut and mix the powder with1 tbsp of milk. Apply and leave for 20 minutes.

- Honey 1 tsp with a few drops of vinegar applied for ½ an hour.

- Soya beans flour 1 tbsp with 1 tbsp of milk applied for ½ an hour.

- Apply grated tomato pulp mixed with cucumber juice. 1 tbsp each. Wash after 20 minutes.

(four alternative tips) if u try them all...then its better....u can do this three to four times in a week.

Try them out;) hope it works
Reply:You need proper skin care read some tips on it on this site
Reply:try applyin curd over the face durin mornings and nights regularly.. let it to dry and wash ur face! this will reduce the oily nature of the skin alovera gel is also another option.. then any other fairness methods can be used!
Reply:look aarti i also hv somewhat oily skin but not too dark. U can try with the mixture of rose water %26amp; lemon juice. Lemon will help as a bleaching agent and also reduce ur oily level. Apply it every night or in morning for 10-20 min %26amp; wash ur face. It will take some time but i assure u it'll work. Trust me!

It will darken the skin only if you go into the sun wearing it.

It is a pure natural thing. It is probably better than all the scented things and you probably taste nice too especially if you are wearing virgin olive oil, cool pressed.

For the skin you might like to use a more refined one, like the light oil or the highly refined medicinal one.

You could immerse some nice herbs in it and let the oil draw the beneficial herbal essence, chamomile would be nice and this would also be good for your skin.

I wonder why no more people have answered you, after all its awful to have dry sensitive skin and olive oil IS really good for it.

Do you eat it too? Olive oil also works well from the inside to help the skin and hair. Use it in your cooking.

Hi COurt

Oil can do a lot more than that. Read below

Here is an unusual but very effective method to heal many skin issues.

INTRODUCTION TO OIL PULLING ("OP")

REPORTED CURES WITH OIL PULLING:

Mouth %26amp; Gum Disease; Stiff Joints; Allergies; Asthma; Acne, High Blood Sugar; Constipation; Migraines; Bronchitis; Eczema; Heart, Kidney, Lung Diseases; Leukemia; Arthritis; Meningitis; Insomnia; Menopause (hormonal issues); Cancer; AIDS; Chronic Infections; Varicose Veins; High Blood Pressure; Diabetes; Polio; Cracked Heels,.

Here's are a few paragraphs from Bharat Savur's article on The Hindu Business Online

..."When Dr Karsch examined the swished milk-white oil under a microscope with 600 magnification, he saw live organisms swimming in it. It's poisonous, so never swallow it, he warns. These poisons are bacteria-embryos, which, if not eliminated, cause diseases. Apparently, Dr Karsch cured his own chronic blood disease and 15-year-old arthritis.

The first sign of improvement is in the teeth-they become firm and white, he says. Other healing indications: fresh, relaxed feeling on waking up, disappearing dark pouches below the eyes, anew appetite and energy, better memory and deep sleep.

Dr Karsch swears by the mouth oil-wash for anything from organ-disorders, skin-diseases, menstrual problems, paralysis to every ache and it is in the human anatomy. You can swish even when you have fever, he says, adding, it takes anything from two days to a year to cure a disease.

And if these claims sound exaggerated, he told a conference of Ukrainian cancer specialists, try out the process yourself.

Interestingly, Ayurveda advises oil swishing "to purify the taste-buds and the entire system", as explained by Dr Deepak Chopra in Perfect Health.

According to this life science, the tongue is mapped by organ-locations — that is, each section of the tongue is connected to the kidneys, lungs, spleen, liver, heart, pancreas, small intestines, stomach, colon, and spine.

Thus, an oil-mouth-massage soothes and stimulates the key meridians where taste meets organ. Simultaneously, as in any skin-massage, the inner skin and lining of the mouth, palate and tongue become warm and supple and the lubrication prevents dryness (the vatic effect).

In modern dietetics too, dryness is discussed.

For example, lack of Vitamin A (retinal) causes the outer lining of the eyeball to dry and wrinkle, and affects vision.

And as any dietician would tell you, all oils contain 960 micrograms of vitamin A per 10 gm (the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A per adult is 600 micrograms). So, it's possible that oil gargling helps in reaching the required retinal to the eyeballs and keeps them elastic and smooth.

Likewise, the Ayurvedic `purification of taste-buds' also has its equivalent in dietetics as `antioxidants'. Oxidation literally means `the putrefaction of body-tissues'.

And oil-soluble vitamins, A, C, D, and E are antioxidants that protect and prevent the decaying process and help maintain the integral functioning of cell membranes. That's why many people are ingesting vitamin E pills to stem `aging' (oxidation). "

Reply:Olive oil is an age old Mediterranean remedy. It won't darken the skin. The only way to do that is use something (chemical) that increases the tanin in your skin. The sun brings out this tanin, hence the sun "tan".

My skin is very delicate and I have tried all I can, What do you advice?

My skin is a very delicate and sensitive skin, I have tried different types of product, the last one I tried was mary Kay, could some please tell me how to treat my face and what product to try next.

My skin is very delicate and I have tried all I can, What do you advice?
for sensitive skin u can use a herbal soap free cleanser, a toner with tea tree oil or rose water or witch hazel, and moisturize with aloe gel instead of a regular moisturiser.

once a week u can apply a face mask of mashed papaya, fresh cream and honey.

do not over exfoliate ur skin either. restrict it to once every 10 days if u have oily skin or once in 2 weeks for dry skin. use a sugar based natural scrub. The AHA in sugar will also make ur skin glow.

all the best!
Reply:what's wrong with your face? Too oily, too dry, acne, irritation? What type products are you looking for?

If it's delicate, don't wash with soap, maybe just once a week. No matter how good the soap is, it is still a cleaning agent and can cause irritation.
Reply:Almay, Neutrogena
Reply:Goats Milk Soap, don't wear make up just lip gloss just be a natural beauty.
Reply:i love thy Nicole Millers line of makeup it was featured on Oprah even and you can get it directly from the makers. Melaleuca, makes it. It is full of vitamins for your skin and not full of chemicals. Go to this website a click on more info and tell her that you just want the make up.... beaworkfromhomemom . com also you can go to the Melaleuca . com website and click on beauty it is where i get all mine and i love it !!
Reply:Drink lots of water; it hydrates the cell and cleanses out waste. Use gentle, non abrasive mild soaps- sold at pharmacies and other stores. Your skin might be reacting to something in your diet; often times foods that are oily such as peanuts can cause the skin to become more oily. If you are a teen, make sure you get plenty of rest and exercise; I find that my skin started clearing up after I started exercising regularly and drank more water because I was clearing out the wastes in my body. It will take some time but you should consider seeing a dermatologist to give you the right information.

Reply:As we get older our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. There are many contributing factors that can dry our skin. For example, excessive bathing in hot water, or very dry air can cause your skin to become dry. Dry skin can be prevented. The key is to seal moisture into the skin.

Please refer to http://www.tehreer.com/?p=3400 for more details.

Better skin?

What products and what kind of nutrition would you recommend for a rather sensitive skin? At the moment, my skin seems slightly 'unstable' even though there are no major problems with it. However, it is not as smooth as I would like it to be (i.e., I cannot imagine it without make up creams, it does not look pretty enough without 'cosmetic aid') My diet is mainly based on carbohydrates... Thanks in advance!

Better skin?
theres a really good face mask i learned to make at aesthetics school. its 1 mango and half a papaya blended. then just rub it on already clean skin. if u have sensitive skin dont leave it on to long. it will burn. just rinse off with water. your face may be red for like 30min but when your done your skin feels so nice. i love this stuff
Reply:Go to healthquest.peoplesway.com. Oil of Mink is amazing for skin, hair, reduces sensitivity in teeth. Works on cuts, burns, scars, warts, moles. Natural sun blocker. Protec and Protrim are dietary suppliments, help remove toxins from your body too. If toxins are slowly coming out of the skin it could be your problem. There are also some videos you can watch at youtube if you search for peoplesway.
Reply:You say that your diet is mainly based on carbohydrates?? Do you mean pasta, rice, bread and wheat based products?? If so, then you really do need to try eating some more plant based foods. This really does have an impact on the total health of our bodies, the true health of our bodies is reflected in the condition and health of our skin. This is the first place inconsistencies in our system will show up. If you are consuming too many acid foods such as I mentioned above your diet would be too acidic and will eventually cause you illness. You need to aim for 60% of your diet consisting of alkaline foods - fresh fruits such as apples, bananas, cantalope, grapes, watermelon, green leafy vegies, protein such as almonds, chestnuts, millet, tempeh, tofu, all herbs, sea salt, fresh fruit juices, green juices, mineral water, probiotic cultures, soured dairy products and veggie juices.

The other 40% of your diet should consist of acid forming foods ie::- animal proteins such as bacon, beef, fish, lamb, lobster, mussels, salmon, sardines, scallops, shellfish butter, cheese, milk, rice milk, soy milk, legumes, peanuts, tahini, walnuts, wheat flour, macaroni, kamut, noodles, oatmeal, all rice, spaghetti, wheat germ, green peas, chick peas, lentils, corn, olives, blueberries, plums, cranberries, barley, oat bran and corn.

This list is by no means exhaustive but at least gives you an indication of the balance your diet should be following for optimal health.

To improve the health of your skin you need to increase your intake of Vitamin A rich foods. ie.:Fish liver oil, liver, carrots, dark green and yellow vegies, eggs, milk and dairy products, margarine and yellow fruits. The color intensity of a fruit or vegetable is not necessarily a reliable indicator of its Vitamin A content.

If you're deficient in vitamin A, no skin treatment will work properly.

Recommended daily intake for adults is 4,000 International Units. (IU). It's time to top up on vitamin A if your skin is dry or rough, or it breaks out in spots. Other deficiency signs include dry, fragile skin prone to wrinkles, blackheads, white heads, splitting nails, bumpy and pimply skin.

Vitamin A helps ensure that skin is taut, silky soft and youthful looking by nutruting the fat lying beneath the skin. Vitamin A also makes sure that the skin cells rising to the surface remain supple, so yskin feels soft and smooth. Vitamin A may help prevent sun damage.

As well as increasing your food intake of Vitamin A rich foods, go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist to recommend a good brand of a hair skin and nails tablet for you to buy. Avoid synthetic vitamins as they are too hard to digest.

The only other thing that I can think of is to drink plenty of pure filtered daily and protect your skin from the sun. Also get plenty of rest and don't forget to have some fun, everybody needs to play !!!

PEACE %26amp; LIGHT
